BCF is becoming more and more interesting for many of our clients. BCF has some advantages compared to glas fiber. The strength, chemical and thermal resistance is higher than that from glas fiber but the production proces and raw material is economical.

Currently there are two main procedues for BCF production available. The proces steps for both variants are similiar.

• Basalt rocks get cracked and melted
• The basalt melt is going to be homogenized
• Afterwards the homogenized basalt melt will be formed by a platinum alloy bushing
• The final step is to extract the inital fiber and winding it on coils

The advantages of BFC technologies are

• The cost of raw basalt material is very low. The common material costs are less than 10%.
• The production requires just one material. The raw basalt.
• The production procedure consists from only few steps and the BCF just has to heated up by one time while production.
• The power consumption for the production procedure is very low compared to similar materials and production processes.
